September 2009, the St Jude Hospital in Vieux Fort, Saint Lucia suffered extensive damage from a fire. Three people lost their lives in the devastating fire that consumed the surgical, recovery and laboratory wing of the hospital. The St. Jude Hospital has been in existence since 1966.
Efforts to support this reconstruction have gathered pace, as members of leading charitable organisations are collaborating with local business entities and the Government to raise funds This tragedy now presents our local Saint Lucian community and friends in the UK with an opportunity to mobilise behind a national effo
To extend this effort, our community and friends in the UK in association with the High Commission for Saint Lucia are planning a series of fund raising events, starting with a charity fund raising dance on Saturday 23rd January 2009, at Chocolate City, Southend Road, East Ham, London E6 2AA from 9pm till 4am.
